Dear Mr Dahl,
I am writing to you because I want to tell you how much I liked reading The Twits .My favourite part was when Mrs Twit put worms in Mr Twit’s spaghetti because that was the funniest part in the book. I also liked the bit when Mr Twit put a frog in Mrs Twit’s bed.
I would really like to know how you came up with the idea of The Twits? Do you have any friends like The Twits or not? I wondered if you would do any thing like that to your wife!
Are you planning to write another book about The Twits?
Yours sincerely
Miss K Forbes

Witch baby and me
Dear Debi Gliori,
I loved your book. It was so funny! You made the characters just right. Why did you do it about a baby? I liked the big sister because she is really funny and kind.
Why did you make them move house?
I hope this is a best seller.

Granny the Pag by Nina Bawden
Dear Diary,
I’ve had the most horrible day ever . I was bullied by William Green (Willy Snot Nose) and his friends Fishbreath and Fatboy. I ran from school all the way to the train station without Tom or Rosie and I hid under the stairs leading to the train. Even after all that Willy caught me on the train. I was so scared. I saw them shouting and yelling as they flung themselves into the carriage as the blind man moved to the end of the carriage and Willy started to call me Witches cat. Then I started to feel sick then we stopped at another train station. As soon as we got moving again Willy jumped on me and I was trapped then Willy grabbed my hair and gave it a tug and it felt like my scalp was about to rip off my head. Then Fishbreath tried to set fire to my hair. I’ve never been so angry in whole entire life.

How to survive summer camp by Jacqueline Wilson

This book I would recommend to a lot of people because it is very good. This book is about a girl going to summer camp and getting put into a room with five other girls. Three of them like her and two of them don’t. She gets called names like and hurt feelings . I really like this book and I think you probably would too if you read it.

Spy Dog by Andrew Cope

It’s in chapter eighteen when Lara got shot in five different places and when the first bullet came out of the gun she saw a black thing. When the second bullet came out she smelt a burning smell. When the third bullet came out she heard a bang. When the forth bullet came out she got a hole in her ear. When the fifth bullet came out see couldn’t see anything. Then when she woke up she smelt the bed, she thought to herself that she must have been in a vet and then Ben, Oille, Sophie, Mum and Dad came in the room.

Books are great!
Every month, as part of the guided reading scheme, pupils read a novel and complete a short written activity based on their reading.
The work that the children complete is so fantastic that we thought it would be good to put some of it on the blog.

What a great selection of books. It looks like you all have a great time reading them. I know that Sarah really enjoys reading and is finishing them very quickly just now.
Hope there are more comments to read soon.
