Eco Fashion Show

As our last project was recycling, we decided to create some funky fashion using only rubbish, old material and our super imaginations!!!

-

We wanted to show everyone a fun way to reuse and recycle rubbish and old clothing.

—–

Our first job was to work in pairs to design and create wonderful and outrageous hats. We used papier mache to make the base and then used a variety of recycled materials to make our ideas come to life!!

———-

Next, we started to collect interesting and colourful rubbish at home and at school. We created a special collection box outside our classroom and asked everyone in the school to help us with our collection.

We the started to design some clothing made from this assortment of junk. We worked in groups to create a range of clothing – ties and belts, skirts and waistcoasts.

——–

One of our last jobs was to work together to try and recycle old items of clothing that we did not wear anymore. We all brought in old items of clothing from home and took parts of each one to make a series of new, eco outfits.

——-

Finally, the day came to spread our ECO message

We worked as a class to create a funky dance routine to open our show. Then we all wrote funny advertising pitches for our hats. Some of us added the final touches by writing the scripts.

-

We invited classes from the school and our parents to the fashion show. There were about 250 people in the audience!

It was scary (and exciting) but the 5L fashion show was a HUGE success.

-

We have created walls displays outside our classroom to remind people about our eco message - REUSING and RECYCLING rubbish and old clothing is easy – and great fun!
