Primary 5L

We had a wonderful, sunny day for our sports day this year. Well done to everyone who took part and congratulations to our winners!

We had a great time on Red Nose Day and managed to raise lots of money for Comic Relief by wearing something funny for money.

What a funny looking bunch!

A massive WELL DONE to 5L for an excellent fashion show – the months of work have really been worth it!

I also wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to all of the parents, grandparents and others who came to support the children in the fashion show today. It really meant a lot to the children.

I’m planning to create a new Fashion Show page on the blog to show off all of our pictures – check back here soon.

Next Friday is a big day for everyone in 5L. We are finally presenting our fashion designs in our class assembly. We have made hats, t-shirts, waistcoats, shirts and many more exciting things out of recycled materials.

We had a wonderful time during multi-cultural week. Just look at all of our super snaps!!

We had visits from many different people to teach us about fair trade, art and international dances. We learnt about the lives of children in other countries and also about the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

On Friday, we all came to school in clothes connected to our nationality.

We’ve been really busy this term already and have started the year with lots of messy and fun jobs. A big thank you to everyone who contributed items for our junk box.

Just a reminder that next week at Culter School is our Multicultural Week. The children will be taking part in lots of fun activities and learning about the lives of people from other cultures.

5L and 5/6I have been running the Culter Christmas Post this year. So far we have raised over £100!! A big THANK YOU to everyone who bought stamps this year.

A few dates to remember:

* Wednesday 17th December will be the last day that stamps will be on sale.

* Thursday 18th December will be the last day that letters can be posted.

Last Friday, Esmee was celebrating the visit of Sinterklaas with her family. She gave a talk to the class about Sinterklaas, brought in some homemade pepernoten for us to try and even taught us a funky Dutch song! I must say, our Dutch singing was incredibly good. (Although, I’m sure Esmee would disagree!!)

Mrs Crossan was very impressed with Esmee’s presentation. She gave Esmee a headteacher’s award for all of her effort!

We had great fun designing egg boxes with Mrs Tibbetts. We had to make our packaging as eco-friendly as possible. We also needed to decorate our boxes and make sure they were strong enough to protect our eggs. Miss Lints enjoyed dropping our creations from a great height to test them!!
